Last week, Waynesville Middle School 6th graders experienced a visit from Balsam Mountain Preserve.  Students interacted with lots of native animals and enjoyed a presentation from naturalist, Jen Knight.  Some of the visitors included an opossum, a corn snake, several owls, hawks, hissing cockroaches, and even an alligator.  6th grade students study life science, physical science, and earth science.
