Students in Mrs. Estes Science classes at Waynesville Middle School participated in a mobile field trip Oct. 10 and 11 offered by the WNC Nature Center. To further students understanding of biomes and food chains, Joy Duval brought owl and hawk pellets for students to dissect in an attempt to determine what food the animal had been eating. Students also studied the food web of birds of prey by learning more about a corn snake and a black rat snake while also having the opportunity to see a corn snake up close.
